Principal’s Message

Welcome to the Queen of Peace Catholic School webpage.  On behalf of the entire Queen of Peace Catholic School community I want to take this opportunity to tell you how happy we are to introduce you to our school and the Queen of Peace community.  We truly appreciate your interest in our school.

At Queen of Peace Catholic School we strive to educate all students so that they will experience growth academically, socially, emotionally, physically, and most importantly spiritually.  Catholic values are integrated across the content areas, and in school settings outside of academic instruction.  Students have religion instruction daily and attend mass once a week.  The seventh and eighth grade students lead all students in a monthly Catholic Traditions program which focuses on core values of Catholic faith, beliefs, and practices.  Catholic Identity is embedded into all curriculum and content areas, and into the programs outside of the school day.

Students are blessed to have an experienced and dedicated faculty who provide targeted instruction designed to help each student grow and master curriculum and grade level standards.  Queen of Peace is blessed to offer small classes which affords teachers the opportunity to know each student and plan instruction that best meets the needs of all learners.  There is an intentional focus on literacy acquisition and growth at all grade levels, and in all content areas.  Students are regularly assessed to monitor their progress.  Teachers utilize the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) as a guide for curriculum and instruction in the core content areas of math, reading, English, science, and social studies.  Ancillary teachers also utilize the TEKS for planning and instruction in physical education, art, and music.

At Queen of Peace Catholic School our students and parents receive support from a number of sources.  The instructional specialist works with all teachers and many of the students with specific individual academic goals.  Title I services are available for those students who qualify based off the Iowa assessment.  English Language Learners are supported through Title III services.  Counseling and nursing services are provided by Catholic Charities and Christus program respectively.  The National School Lunch Program is utilized for the preparation of breakfast and lunch.  Finally, the before and after school programs assist working parents by extending the day for students.

Extra-curricular and athletic opportunities are on the rise at Queen of Peace Catholic School.  Volleyball, soccer, girls and boys basketball, and track are offered for all 5th – 8th grade students.  Clubs, leadership, and service groups are also available.

I want to thank you for considering Queen of Peace Catholic School for your child.  We would love to meet you and show you the great things our school has to offer.  If you have any questions please contact me or the school office by phone or e-mail.

Sincerely in Christ,

Mrs. Jan Krametbauer
