Our middle school program includes the core subjects of English, math, science, social studies, reading, and religion. Students also have ancillary instruction in physical education, art, and music. Technology is integrated into the core content classes. Teacher work to actively engage students while offering a variety of opportunities for students to demonstrate knowledge through exploration, projects, group and independent activities, and presentations. Instruction is often differentiated, with a particular focus on literacy instruction. Critical thinking skills as well as higher order thinking skills are a focus as the student progresses through middle school and prepares for high school.
The classroom environment is safe and caring where all students can experience a feeling of acceptance and belonging. The social needs of middle school students are addressed both in the classroom and in activities outside the classroom. Catholic values and virtues are integrated throughout the day for middle school students and service is integrated through activities that address the corporal and spiritual works of mercy. Catholic identity is embedded in all content areas.
The goal for Queen of Peace Catholic School middle school students is that they are academically, socially, emotionally, physically, and spiritually prepared for high school. We believe our students will go out and change the world for the better.
